Blasted Birds!
Remember the old LCD games you used to play as a kid? Well welcome back to the 80’s punk!
Our new game ‘Blasting Birds’ is designed as a simple LCD game!
It’s simple, blast the birds from the sky…
Scorching 8 bit sounds FX’s will make you feel right at home, a blistering tree print almost looks real!
New technological advanced’s allow us to add a new patent pending effect. It’s called ‘Milc’ (Moving ink leak control) this advancement in technology allows us to add one colour to our LCD game, it’s out of this world!
So, go grab some tablet batteries, unscrew the back, push them in and start blasting away!

Zombie Pt 12 – Bigger room, better gun, more zombies and close to a final release!
I’ve introduced the “wasted bullets” which means anytime you miss a zombie you’ll loose two points. Better be reserved with your firing!
I’ve fixed the collision detection with the zombies, before you had to shoot the zombie in the center to get a kill, now anywhere on the zombie will kill him!
Final score has been updated to incorporate the missed bullets.
Cheat mode or “Special mode” should I say has been added. Though just yet I’m not sure how I’m going to incorporate it maybe if a score is met you’ll be given the code, needless to say it’s there now can be activated and doesn’t add or take anything away from the game.
The scoring system isn’t perfect and awards players double points for some kills, I need to work out why..Cheat mode needs enabling.done, though I may add a bit more and tweak it a bit.Rounds need to increase the number of zombies entering the room or the speed at which they enter.Bullet system still needs more tuning.Zombies can walk through walls (I may change the graphics to something else so i don’t have to code more collision detection
)Sounds and music need creating/addingButton animations need adding. The ‘Fire’ animation gets stuck on screenRemove “Chain firing”Stop bullets getting stuck in the wall- Put sound effects and music in code . Not looked into this yet
Count wasted bullets and take that of the final scoreDone
On a side note, personally I feel something isn’t quite right with the game play so I’m hoping some feedback will suggest what, maybe the rounds are to long/short, not enough zombies, too many etc etc..
I think I will open up the arena a bit so it’s not so small, I’ll see how that plays, maybe that’s what bugging me.
Done the above, I think it’s better but see what you think.
So really now all I have to do is sort out the sounds effects, music, tweak this and that then release!
Oh and I may or may not add some bat’s!

Zombie Pt11 – Scores, sounds, downloads and more!
Right, first up, I’m doing a release today. Lot’s been changed and upgraded in the last couple of days and it’s finally coming together!
So feel free to Download version 1.0.0
The bullet is now visible as a 3d object which makes it clearer to the player where the bullet is shooting. It also increases accuracy for the player, in turn, I’ve removed the 2d “gun shot” explosion to keep the screen estate clean.
The firing is working really well now with bullets shooting and reloading as expected. I’ve still not managed to get one press one shot working, instead the player can shoot a chain of fire but the chain is very slow and causes inaccuracy. What I may do is have a meter for wasted bullets (bullets that didn’t get a kill, this meter would then be taken of your final score). Also, I need to tweak bullet detection with zombies, you’ll notice in the video that the bullets have to hit dead in the center of the zombie to kill the zombie, hits on the out side don’t finish them off!
I’ve started to put some sounds in, though they are sounding good I’m not sure they will make the final release as I want to keep thing 8bit. If I can downgrade them to 8 bit I will. My sound effects and music are not importing correctly which is really winding me up, nothing to do with the code but the software I used to make them, so I’ll keep working on that part.

Zombie – Pt 7 Zombie’s die and scores will rise!
The boom stick is locked, cocked and ready to rock!
I’ve hidden the big old white 3d circle which was/is my bullet. The gamer doesn’t need to see it because the crosshair and “explosion” graphic are in place. It’s still there and it’s what used to detect collision with the zombies but now it’s hidden.
The score meter is also in place and working awarding players with ‘30‘ “in your face” points for every zombie you shoot.
The basic’s of the “night/round” are in place but nothing changes currently.
I’ve released the first download because you can actually play something, you can see how high your score can rise! In the mean time i’ll get to work on the rounds and bug fixing that may…will arise!
P.S. Make sure you die!
Other little changes:
I’ve swapped the buttons over so that the fall in place with the physical keyboard layout.
The Lost Rooms – Part 4
Here’s today development, so the plan was to get ‘WASD’ keys working and running by tapping the space bar repeatedly and today I managed to get proper controls working including the mouse, so you can look around the environment and move using the WASD keys like in all other FPS. (Though this isn’t going to be a FPS)
I got stuck with the ‘space bar’ running aspect and decided to fiddle with a few other options to stop me from getting bored. I’ve added colour to the top roof, not sure if I like it or not yet but what I do like is the light that radiates out from the player, this is going to be very interesting for the final game play!
I also played with the screen resolution and attempted to smooth out the movement.

I designed this web site to promote a game I had made, which is still there! The big focus around this web site was the community, so back end there is a really nice and simple forum for the users.
